Projected NBA Role
A methodical, power-driven guard who thrives on footwork, strength, and feel. Harper pressures the rim consistently, manipulates defenses out of ball screens, and finishes through contact with elite touch. While his jumper and athleticism are question marks, his decision-making and craft give him a strong foundation as a primary or secondary creator.
Swing Skill
Pull-Up Shooting – Will determine whether defenses can go under screens or not. Handle Under Pressure – Needs to tighten to better handle traps and blitzes. Defensive Focus – Flashes tools but not consistent in stance or rotations.
NBA Player Comparisons
James Harden Lite (post Houston version) – A bruising, intelligent guard who reads coverages, lives at the rim, and can function as an offensive engine without elite athleticism.
Jalen Brunson lite with less pull-up shooting, more slashing – Similar craft and ability to live inside the arc through strength and timing, but Harper does more damage at the rim and less in the midrange.
Spencer Dinwiddie – Strong-bodied guard who creates rim pressure and can initiate offense but lacks burst and defensive impact.
