Simply just different seasons so that way you are able to compare peak years versus another. (apologies if this is already a feature)
Be able to select calendar dates for lineup data
This is some of the coolest stuff I have seen. Making it an option to download into files that are compatible with things like Tableau would be next level.
1. In-season trends - line chart to see how a player is performing over the course of a single season - reveals improvement/regression 2. Matchup difficulty - percentage of time a player is playing vs starters, how often vs elite offensive/defensive players 3. Compensation by role - use the 3 play type categories to define roles (what they’re asked to do) and show comp. More in line with how player’s are actually paid. Bonus if you can filter by usage/mins
To go along with the contract page, you could create trades and see if they are legal or not
Any way we can make the data downloadable? CSV
test
Hey, I wanted to know if it was possible to add the finals stats to the regular season, play-in and playoffs when it comes to PvP comparisons ? It'd be cool since finals are regarded as the biggest stage 😁
Glossary for all advanced stats and how each are calculated
Add O-LEBRON and D-LEBRON metrics
Would be able to see the ratings of each lineup at a specific time in the season. Would help to see the trends of how the lineups play out.
Would it be possible to create a place where you could see the advanced stats like PIE DARKO Raptor per season with all the players included? So sort of like Basketball reference where each season you would see 500 rows of players and you could immediately see the advanced stats in the columns for each player for each season. Currently doing research for an academic paper that will be published, and this would be a huge help
Since all websites calculate possessions (and other things) that go into ORtg/DRtg differently, it would be nice to have databallr's league-wide stats (i.e. all teams' ORtgs/DRtgs) available as a baseline. If I know a certain lineup has a 118 ORtg on databallr, I don't know how that compares league-wide. But on NBA.com or Cleaning the Glass, for example, we can use their league-wide stats as a baseline. Thanks!
Player log with name of opponent and graphic of the line. Exemple: line is10+ REB, a graphic show last games with win and loss.
I think having pace be available somewhere for comparing lineups would be useful
I think it would be needed to have turnoers caused by other player in the matchup matrix
Just think it's a little more accurate. A player playing 30 minutes will not see 75 possessions typically. For the Mikal Bridges of the world per 75 is accurate
Would love to see a stat that tracks passes leading to shooting fouls and the points generated off free throws from these passes
Adding in the date filter from pbpstats to see lineup data during a given date range
We should be able to see players stats per series and not just through the overall playoffs. Like being able to see Lebron james 2020 playoff stats vs specifically houston.
Would it be possible to add support for filtering players by multiple stat criteria at once, instead of only sorting by a single stat? For example, I’d like to be able to see players who meet a few criteria at the same time: • Stops per 100 possessions ≥ 2.5 • True shooting percentage ≥ 55% • Defensive rebound percentage ≥ 12% In other words, a way to set minimum (and maybe maximum) thresholds on several stats and then view/sort just the players who match all of them. This would make it much easier to find specific player archetypes instead of just the leaders in one stat. This is a feature that would push me toward paying for a subscription/paying for the service, instead of just finding a new advanced stat website once you start charging. Thanks a ton!
On iphone the dashboard that shows the top 3 darko DPM players doesnt slide to the side even though it looks like it is supposed to..using the web app on the newsest IOS
Curious to see stat line shifts for more two players ruled out. For Example - Evan Mobley stats with Garland AND Jarrett Allen Out
Please add a feature that explains each stat in depth.
for example I want to go to OKC's page and sort their players by net rtg on/off
When does the website update for this season? I don't see any of the rookies from the most recent draft class such as Edgecombe.
I would like to be able to access the data through an api so I can use code to sort through datasets. Is this feature already available I have been looking for it
Is this a official stats of the NBA cause I looked for the legal disclaimer and didn't see anything?
Please add a glossary
Messes up SGA's ppg. It shows his most recent 10 games PPG as 30ppg but thats inaccurate
Would be really useful to see what stats fall for players against good defenses and by how much. The percentile on the % drop could be really instructive. Could also be added for playoffs to see the scoring resilience with a good team gameplanning against you. Think stats like ORTG and NetRTG should be included to account for teams throwing the kitchen sink at you but it leading to good offense
Would be cool to see 2017-2019 Steph vs KD, 2021-2024 Jokic vs Embiid, etc.
Think the defensive fg diff% needs to be added to the showcase so that we can filter the minutes and actually look at who’s at the top.
I would love a way to be able to share the data easily with other people by having a link to share the specific year/team/players selected instead of just linking to the site itself
matchup footage for previous season are not available, would greatly appreciate you sorting it out
I feel like it would be useful to separate the transition data from the spacing/finishing/creation boxes on the dashboard
Just a suggestion but for the wowy lineups you should be able to filter the best lineups for different things, like best offensive lineup best defensive, and then you could filter based on how many guys in the lineup like a 2 man lineup or a 5 man
When you sign in the sign in option still shows, also make an option to go back and forth between pages on app
don't autoplay the videos
Unless you think it’d be misleading
HOW TO LOOK AT SHOT CHARTS FOR EACH PLAYER
can you add usage rate on wowy, like how you can see ortg drtg etc when a teammate is on or off the court if you could also see usage rate. like what is jokic’s usage when murray is on vs when he’s off
add a calendar for last x games
Players and their efficiency from every shot shown on a shot chart
Add relative true shooting so we can see there TS% relative to whatever year they were playing at the time it helps us contextualize how efficient someone was for there era
Title describes it; it would be cool if the matchup data also reflected how the overall team performed, even if only a simple points per possession. That could answer some questions if a player really helped their team a lot even if the raw stats didn't look great. I had actually put together something vaguely similar a few years back by manually inputting data from pbpstats which I'll link below if you find it a useful reference at all, but this tool is so much better. Great stuff guys! https://x.com/LukeSwiatek/status/1643682344237244433
Is it possible for the matchup stats to be adjustable for regular season and playoffs? Right now it defaults at regular season + playoffs but it would be good if I could see the stats seperate for each.
If the player stats in the "Last X Games" section could be seen just in general for every player through different seasons it would be great to look at all in one place.
On GP2's last 29 games, it says he's shot 15% from 3. That is reversed. He shot 15% from 3 in his FIRST 29 games this season. This is a great website keep up the great work.
Is it possible to get more statistics in this feature? Primarily: Usage rate, free-throw rate, and three-point rate? Thank you!
add steals and blocks (to all measurements- 75 possessions, 36 minutes, and per game)to stat line shift and other stuff
Add percentiles to player vs player tab. For Example, when a player has a defensive field goal of -3 say that they are in the 90th percentile.
Can heaves be filtered in true shooting and all other efficiency stats? Players shouldn't be punished for missing heaves and others shouldn't be rewarded for not taking them.
Could be interesting to see what the averages are for both players to compare them with the matchup data
Would be really cool to quickly compare two players playtype efficiency (or relative PPP when comparing different eras) in the offense tab on player vs player.
Basically add last x games support so you can see team stats in whatever amount of games. For example the warriors have x ppg in the last 10 games
basically like on pbpstats
Would be really useful to understand what exactly everything means or how it's being pulled/calculated. In "Matchups," what exactly does it mean for one player to guard the other? Where is the data from? Etc. Amazing work, thank you!!
When choosing a new start or end season, the data refreshes automatically which is great but you can't see it right away because the season selection dialog box stays open on top of it even though the user is finished with it (or can re-open it if they want to change seasons again).
Right now, the easiest way to share insights from this AWESOME site is to take screenshots. I’d love to have the ability to easily share the data I’m viewing by having dynamic URLs that adjust based on what filters I’ve applied
Adds important context and stops people drawing incorrect conclusions in small samples.
playtype trends to the last X games tab would be super insightful
Adding footage for the matchup data, though I'd shrink this to only results (e.g. pts, tov, ast) since a player can change matchups many times in a single possession.
Any feedback?
